Opening Night
The Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival is planned to kick off with a powerful evening of music, dance, and celebration. Guests can look forward to live performances, special guests, and moments that honor Black history, culture, and community.
Interfaith Brunch
A morning of unity, reflection, and fellowship, the Interfaith Brunch is designed to bring diverse faith communities together to honor the spirit of Juneteenth. With inspiring messages, uplifting music, and meaningful dialogue, we will celebrate the resilience and hope that have carried generations forward.
Sports Clinics
Our planned sports clinics will cater to various interests, including dance and cheer, basketball, and football. We anticipate partnering with professional, collegiate, and local athletes to host clinics that energize young people and give them a chance to train in a high-energy, confidence-boosting environment.
5K & Family Run
We are planning a Juneteenth 5K and family-friendly run to encourage health, wellness, and community connection. Runners and walkers of all ages and levels will be welcome to participate in this meaningful, movement-focused experience.
Wellness & Social Action Pavillion
Explore a planned showcase of organizations, nonprofits, and community groups dedicated to uplifting and empowering our community. Guests will be able to connect with leaders, discover valuable resources, and learn about impactful initiatives shaping our future.
Family Carnival
For our youngest adventurers, the Family Carnival is planned as a day full of excitement, creativity, and unforgettable memories. Activities may include rides, games, live performances, and hands-on experiences the whole family can enjoy. We are also planning a Juneteenth parade featuring performers and displays that celebrate freedom, culture, and community.
History Lectures
Celebrate Juneteenth with a journey through history. Planned history talks and exhibits will highlight stories from some of Montgomery County’s historic Black communities, uplifting their rich legacies from their founding roots to their present-day impact. Community members, historians, and local leaders will help bring these stories to life.
Baseball Classic
We are planning a commemorative baseball game that celebrates local Black history, community pride, and the legacy of trailblazing athletes. This experience is envisioned as a day of family-friendly fun, reflection, and shared tradition.
Evening Celebration & Fireworks
An evening celebration is planned to close out the festival with music, community gathering, and a possible fireworks display, creating a joyful and memorable end to the Juneteenth festivities.
