Your Family’s Treasures Have a Story. Learn How to Preserve It.
On September 18 and 19, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, Glenstone Museum, and the Juneteenth Scotland Foundation will present Hometown Treasures: Capital Region, a free two-day experience at the Bette Carol Thompson Scotland Neighborhood Recreation Center.
Bring up to three treasured family items to meet one-on-one with a preservation professional. Items can include photographs, letters, books, quilts, clothing, family records, military memorabilia, and other cherished heirlooms.
During your review, you’ll learn more about your items and receive practical guidance on how to care for and preserve them for generations to come.
